How Is Sleep Apnea Diagnosed?

If you present obstructive sleep apnea symptoms such as daytime sleepiness or morning headaches, our dentists may refer you to a local sleep specialist to make a precise sleep apnea diagnosis. You may need to take a sleep study, which involves wearing a monitor at home while you sleep. A sleep study can precisely measure your oxygen levels, sleep patterns, and more. The sleep study data will be submitted to a trusted specialist, who will determine the type and severity of your sleep disorder.

You are at a higher risk of developing obstructive sleep apnea if you are overweight, a smoker, male, have medical conditions such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure, or have a family history of the condition.

What an AMAZING practice. In my 48 years, I have never experienced a dental practice of this magnitude. They spent 2.5 hours thoroughly going through my first exam. They took x-rays, pictures and even a mini-catscan of my jaw. The office is beautiful and staff is very friendly. They even brought me a bottle of water at one point..... I would give this practice 10 stars if I could!!!!!

The staff and doctors are the best at Las Sendas. They are always so kind, careful, accommodating and keep to a schedule. My hygienist was wonderful, she made me feel comfortable and I’m not a huge fan of dental cleanings. The doctor identified a couple of issues to watch and I know I’m in good hands. Thank you to the whole office for being so outstanding!
